Between 2012 and 2014, North Carolina's Inter-Faith Food Shuttle made use of a vacant 14000sf building and surrounding open space, exploring the potential to extends their core food bank mission into community building, food production, and urban agriculture training. To support this exploration, Community Food Lab analyzed the site, interviewed Food Shuttle team members, and produced a set of visioning images to inspire new uses and support the ongoing development of the site.

For two years, the site hosted an extensive urban agriculture project with both community gardens and commercial production. As of 2017, and after a few years of vacancy, the site is under new ownership and will be explored as a location for community development and local food production.
